Liquor smuggler arrested with 20 beers

Nanny. GRP Prayagraj has achieved significant success in the campaign being run with the aim of preventing increasing incidents of theft in railway stations, circulating areas and trains, curbing illegal smuggling and arrest and recovery of criminals.

Under the direction of Additional Director General of Police Railways, Deputy Inspector General of Police Railways and Superintendent of Police Railways Prayagraj, under the close supervision of Area Officer Railway Prayagraj Arun Kumar Pathak, a joint team of GRP and RPF took action under the leadership of Inspector-in-charge GRP Prayagraj Aklesh Kumar Singh.

On Tuesday, a liquor smuggler was arrested near Naini Side End Bench of platform number 02 of station Chhivki Prayagraj Junction. The arrested accused has been identified as Vivek Kumar (18 years), son of late Ashok Prasad, resident of Naya Tola Govindpur Godaiya place, police station Fatua, district Patna (Bihar).

Police have recovered 20 pieces of Hunter Platinum Strong Premium Beer (500 ml each) kept in a saddle bag from the possession of the accused. The total estimated value of the recovered beer is said to be around Rs 3500.

According to the police, the accused was planning to earn illegal money by smuggling liquor through train and taking it to Bihar and selling it at high prices. In this regard, legal action is being taken by registering a case under the Excise Act in Police Station GRP Prayagraj. Officers/employees included in the arrest team:

(Chowki GRP Chhivki) and Constable Sanjay Kumar Yadav (Chowki GRP Naini) were included.
