List of Telugu film industry celebrities meeting CM Revanth Reddy
Leading Telugu film actors, directors, producers including Akkineni Nagrjuna, Daggubati Venkatesh, Varuntej Konidela, Kalyan Ram, Shiva Balaji, Adivi Sesh, Nitin, Kiran Abbavaram, Jonnalagadda Siddhu, Ram Pothineni, Allu Aravind, Suresh Babu, Murali Mohan, C Kalyan, Naga Babu, Naga Vamsi, Koratala Siva, B Srinivas, Y Ravi Shankar, Naveen Y, met CM Revanth Reddy at the Command Control Center on Thursday morning, Tv9 telugu reported.
Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Pongulati Srinivas Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Principal Secretary Ravi Gupta and DGP Jitendra were also present at the meeting.
Telangana Film Development Corporation (FDC) Chairman and producer Dil Raju on Wednesday said that the meeting is aimed at improving relations between the government and the industry.
The meeting also comes in the wake of Sandhya theatre stampede, in which one woman died and her eight-year-old son was injured and hospitalized on December 4 during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule. The stampede occurred while Allu Arjun and the cast of the movie was inside the theatre for the premiere.
After being on ventilator for several days, doctors at KIMS hospital said that the boy Sritej was able to breathe on his own and may recover soon.
Discussion on cancellation of benefit shows, ticket price hikes:
The discussion between the government and the film industry delegates may center around the recent cancellation of special premiere shows a day before the release of the film and a refusal to hike in ticket prices. It may also center on allocation of theatres and subsidies for small budget films.
The government is expected to ask for cooperation against drug use in films and for film actors to be featured heavily in advertisements against drug use. A ban on rallies is also expected to be proposed by the government.
Allu Arjun arrested, released on bail:
A case was registered against Allu Arjun, was arrested and was later released on interim bail. On Wednesday, Allu Arjun and producers of the movie announced financial assistance of Rs 2 crore for the family of the deceased woman.
The incident also triggered a political row with opposition parties coming out in favour of Allu Arjun as they accused the state government of targeting the film industry.
