Liverpool eyes $75.5M for Arda Guler amid Salah’s contract uncertainty

Liverpool is reportedly willing to spend €70 million ($75.5 million) on Real Madrid’s Arda Guler as they prepare for a potential future without star forward Mohamed Salah.

This move comes amid ongoing speculation about Salah’s contract situation, which is set to expire next summer.

Arda Guler’s struggles at Real Madrid

A striking claim has emerged regarding Guler, who has struggled to secure playing time at Real Madrid. According to El Nacional, the Premier League giants see the talented national player as a viable replacement for Salah, who has expressed dissatisfaction with his current contract status at Anfield.

Guler’s unhappiness in Madrid could lead him to seek a transfer during the winter transfer window.

Ancelotti faces backlash over substitution choices

In the recent El Clasico match against Barcelona, which ended in a shocking 4-0 defeat for Madrid, fans were particularly critical of coach Carlo Ancelotti’s decision not to substitute in Guler. Instead, Ancelotti brought on Brahim, who had recently recovered from injury, which only fueled further criticism as Guler remained sidelined.

This controversial decision has intensified rumors regarding Güler’s future, with Liverpool now reportedly keen to secure his services.

Salah’s future at Liverpool in jeopardy

Salah, who has been a crucial player for Liverpoolsetting a new record of scoring over 20 goals in seven consecutive seasons, has yet to receive a renewal offer for his expiring contract. Despite speculation linking him to a move to Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad, Liverpool remains optimistic that Salah’s first choice is to extend his stay at the club.

Recent reports suggest Salah desires a three-year contract extension that would keep him at Liverpool until the summer of 2027, when he will be 35 years old. However, the club has been cautious about offering long-term deals to players in their 30s.

As the winter transfer window approaches, reports indicate that Liverpool is lining up a deal for Guler in case Salah decides to leave at the end of his contract. The Reds view Guler as an ideal addition to their squad, particularly with the potential for Salah’s departure looming.
