Calling their separation a mutual decision, Akanksha said, “We’ve been separated, living separately for the last year. It wasn’t public, but that’s my secret.” She also added that there is “no bad blood” between them and that they continue to remain on good terms despite deciding to part ways.

Akanksha explained that they kept their separation private because their families believed they simply needed some space. Following the revelation, several social media users questioned the couple’s anniversary celebrations and public appearances over the past year.

After confirming her separation from Gaurav Khanna, Akanksha Chamola shared that she isn’t looking for love anytime soon.

“I am not planning to fall in love again at the moment; I want to enjoy my freedom,” she said, adding that she got married at 24 and spent much of her adult life in a relationship. Now, she wants to focus on herself, her career, and finding peace. Akanksha also revealed that the separation has been amicable, and although she and Gaurav still speak, they realised they had different visions for the future.

However, during a discussion with inmates Shreya Kalra and Sufi Motiwala inside the Cover Up 2 house, Akanksha revealed that one of the key differences between her and Gaurav Khanna was about starting a family. She shared that she never felt a natural desire to become a mother, even during their marriage.

Akanksha said, “Jab hum shaadi mein the, mera maternal instinct kabhi nahi tha (When we were married, I never had a maternal instinct). But I was open to discovering it, and it was never shut down. But gradually, I realised that I am not meant for it, and he was okay with it. But I guess, in time, that shifted.”

She further added that although Gaurav Khanna’s views changed with time, her feelings remained the same. “Now, he wants to have kids, and I can’t give him that. Nahi hein mere mein instinct, woh maine bohot pehle bol diya tha (I don’t have the instinct. I had told him long back).” Akanksha said that the moment she realised motherhood wasn’t for her, she was honest about it. She recalled telling Gaurav, “If you want to leave me, then you can leave me—fair enough.”

Apart from that, Akanksha Chamola was also seen sharing a light-hearted moment with fellow contestant Harshad Chopra.

Responding with humour, Harshad joked that Gaurav Khanna might not be pleased to hear the compliment and might hit him. Akanksha immediately played along, teasing him by asking whether he was actually scared of Gaurav.

Harshad laughed before admitting, “Haan thoda” (Yes, a little), making it one of the funniest moments of the episode.

Akanksha said, “I am praising your biceps…” Harshad replied, “Gaurav will hit me.” She then asked if he was afraid of Gaurav, to which Harshad responded, “Haan thoda.”
