Karnataka: Noose tightened on CM Siddaramaiah in MUDA case, Lokayukta police interrogated for 2 hours

Mysuru: Today i.e. on Wednesday, November 6, Lokayukta Police has questioned Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Mysuru in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment case. If official sources are to be believed, Siddaramaiah appeared before the Lokayukta police here in response to the summons issued for questioning and Lokayukta Superintendent of Police (SP) T.J. A team led by Udesh answered the questions.

In this regard, the Lokayukta officer said, “The questioning lasted for about two hours.” The Chief Minister, named as accused number one in the FIR lodged by the Lokayukta police, was arrested by the MUDA along with his wife Parvati B. Aam is facing allegations of irregularities in the allotment of 14 sites.

On October 25, he had interrogated the Chief Minister's wife, who has been made accused number two. Siddaramaiah, his wife, his brothers-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy and Devaraju (from whom Swamy had bought the land and gifted it to Parvati) and others have been named in the FIR lodged by the Mysore-based Lokayukta police on September 27. Earlier, Swamy and Devaraju had already appeared before the Lokayukta police.

Meanwhile, the opposition party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demonstrated here reiterating the demand for Siddaramaiah's resignation. BJP MLA T.S. The protesters, led by Srivatsa, criticized Siddaramaiah and asked him to resign as chief minister and face investigation. He also expressed surprise as to how a fair investigation could be conducted against Siddaramaiah while he was holding the post of Chief Minister. Along with this, expressing doubt on the manner of Lokayukta investigation, Shrivatsa demanded that the case should be handed over to CBI soon. (with agency input)
