Lokpal petitions SEBI chiefs for 'oral hearing' and filing

Mumbai Mumbai:The anti-corruption ombudsman has summoned the complainants, including SEBI chief Madhabi Puri Buch and TMC MP Mahua Moitra, for an “oral hearing” next month. This information is given in an official order. This hearing is being conducted on complaints of corruption based on the report of Hindenburg Research. The Lokpal had on November 8 sought “clarification” from Butch on the complaints filed by Moitra and two others.

Buch, chairperson of capital markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), was asked to submit her reply within four weeks. Hearing the case, the Lokpal said that the nominated RPS (respondent public servant) “has timely filed his reply by way of affidavit on 07.12.2024, raising preliminary issues and also giving allegation-wise clarification Has gone.”
