Long range SUV in low budget, new Tata Punch EV Facelift launched for ₹ 9.69 lakh, will now run up to 468KM
Affordable EV: There is great news for Indian customers. Tata Motors has launched its entry-level electric SUV Tata Punch EV Facelift in India at a starting price of ₹9.69 lakh (ex-showroom). This model is the first major update since its debut, which has added a new design, better features and a longer range battery option.
Price and variants: Which option for whom?
The new Punch EV is priced between ₹9.69 lakh and ₹12.59 lakh (ex-showroom). Whereas the starting price of BaaS (Battery as a Service) model is ₹ 6.49 lakh. These are introductory prices and bookings have already started, while deliveries will begin soon. The SUV is available in six variants with two battery options to offer both city driving and long distance driving needs.
Strong battery and great range
The biggest highlight of this facelift is the new 40 kWh battery pack, which is offered along with the already existing 30 kWh option.
- 30 kWh battery: ARAI claimed 365 km (real world approx 270 km)
- 40 kWh battery: ARAI claimed 468 km (real world approx 350 km)
The 40 kWh variant gets a 129 hp front-mounted electric motor. 0-100 km/h is now achieved in 9 seconds. Tata is also offering lifetime, unlimited kilometer battery warranty.

New look and premium design
The new Punch EV has a front bumper and closed grille design. The Y-shaped LED DRLs remain intact and it now gets 16-inch aero-alloy wheels.

Connected LED tail lamps at the rear give it a modern look.
Hi-tech from inside too
The cabin gets a new dual-tone theme and a 10.25-inch digital driver display with a 10.25-inch infotainment screen.

For safety, six airbags are standard, along with ESC, hill-hold, TPMS and ISOFIX mounts.

market positioning
The Punch EV is placed above the Tiago EV and below the Nexon EV in Tata’s EV lineup. It competes with the Citroen eC3, but with more SUV looks and features. With a claimed range of 468 km, the Punch EV is now a strong choice for customers who want long range convenience in a compact size. It has emerged as an attractive option for those buying electric SUV in low budget.
