Loot worth crores in Samastipur’s jewelery shop, miscreants ran away after firing, road jam and arson in protest

Samastipur: Gold and silver worth more than one crore rupees was looted in broad daylight from Priyanka Jewelery shop in Khanpur. Three masked miscreants took shop owner Bhola Sah hostage and looted 20 kg of silver and 3 kg of gold. There was also firing in the air when protested. After the incident, angry people blocked the road and set fire to it and raised slogans against the police administration. Police is investigating.

An incident of major robbery has come to light in broad daylight in a jewelery shop in Shri Gahar village. According to the information, armed miscreants in number of four took the shopkeeper hostage at gunpoint and looted about 15 kg of silver and about 300 grams of gold from the shop. The value of the looted jewelery is said to be crores of rupees. After committing the crime, the criminals fled from the spot. While escaping, the miscreants also fired indiscriminately, due to which panic spread in the area. Angered by the incident, the local people blocked the road by burning tires and raised slogans against the administration.

As soon as information about the incident was received, Khanpur police station and Sadar DSP-2 reached the spot and pacified the angry people and ended the road jam. People were demanding immediate arrest of the miscreants. He said that there has been a sudden increase in criminal incidents in the area, due to which common people are feeling unsafe.

What did the shopkeeper say?

Shopkeeper Rahul Kumar told that at around 3:30 pm, three youths riding on an Apache bike reached the shop posing as customers and asked to show the gold ring. Meanwhile, another customer also came, but after he left, the three youths pointed their pistols and asked them to fill all the goods kept in the shop in a sack. They were threatened to be shot if they protested. The miscreants fled after looting about 300 grams of gold and 20 kg of silver jewellery. While leaving the shop, two youths sitting on a bike also opened fire. Hearing the sound of the gunshot, nearby people gathered at the spot, burnt tyres, blocked the road and started raising slogans against the administration.

What did Sadar DSP say?

Sadar-2 SDPO Sanjay Kumar said that three miscreants, posing as customers, committed the robbery at gunpoint. Police is interrogating and technical team has also been deployed in the investigation. Evidence is being compiled and it is claimed that the case will be solved soon.
