Love, betrayal and death! Controversy broke out after the truth of being married came to light, boyfriend poured kerosene on his girlfriend and burnt her alive.

Gurugram: A heart-wrenching case has come to light from Gurugram, Haryana. In connection with the death of a woman due to burning, the police have arrested her live-in partner. Police say that the accused is accused of pouring kerosene oil on the woman and setting her on fire. The seriously burnt woman was treated for several days, but the doctors could not save her. At present the accused is in police custody and the entire matter is being investigated in depth.

According to Gurugram Police, accused Sunil was in a relationship with the woman for the last one and a half years. During investigation it came to light that after some time the woman came to know that Sunil was already married. According to the police, a dispute started between the two regarding this matter. The woman reached the accused’s shop to talk to him, where an altercation took place between the two. According to the complaint, during this time the accused poured kerosene oil on the woman.

Dispute broke out again in the flat

According to the information revealed in the police investigation, both of them later tried to resolve their mutual dispute. For this, the woman booked a flat located on Sohna Road, Gurugram, where both of them spent the night. The next morning, the accused allegedly told the woman that the smell of kerosene would be gone from her clothes, so she could wear the same clothes. The dispute started again between the two regarding this matter. According to the complaint, during this time the accused set the woman on fire.

The accused was taken to the hospital, but the woman could not survive.

After the incident, the accused himself took the woman to Artemis Hospital in Gurugram. After first aid there, seeing his serious condition, he was referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. Doctors treated him for several days, but due to severe burns, his life could not be saved. According to the police, the woman died during treatment on July 27.

Case registered on family’s complaint

The police first received information from Artemis Hospital that a burnt woman had been admitted. Three days after the woman’s death, on July 30, one of her relatives lodged a formal complaint with the police. The complainant told that on July 22, when he had gone to meet the victim, the woman had alleged that Sunil alias Noni had set her on fire. The complaint also said that the accused had threatened her that if she complained to the police, her mother would also be harmed.

On the basis of relative’s complaint and available evidence, Gurugram police registered a case and arrested the accused Sunil. The police also claimed to have recovered a bottle of kerosene oil from the possession of the accused. At present the accused has been sent on police remand for two days. The investigating officers are investigating all aspects of the case and other evidence related to the incident is also being collected. Police say that further legal action will be taken after the investigation is completed.
