LPG scam Jharkhand Hazaribagh: a big one in Jharkhand cyber fraud A case has come to light, where a person was defrauded of about ₹ 20 lakh in the name of getting an LPG connection. CID has arrested three accused from Hazaribagh in this case. Investigation revealed that the accused contacted the victim through social media and lured him into getting an LPG connection.
After this, the accused sent a fake link, on clicking which a total of ₹ 19.85 lakh was gradually withdrawn from the victim’s bank account. While taking action, the police seized mobile phones and SIM card Have been recovered, which were used in this fraud.

Here, due to the ongoing tension in West Asia, LPG supply has also been affected. The government has said that India is in constant touch with other countries regarding its energy security. Meanwhile, a relief package of ₹497 crore has also been announced for the affected exporters.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the situation is challenging, but India is continuously active at the diplomatic level and is trying to ensure safe supply. He said that talks are going on with global partners for the safe return of citizens to Gulf countries.
