LPG customers rejoice! Government announced 4 major changes, now cylinder will be available within minutes

New Delhi: The Central Government has put an end to all the ongoing speculations regarding the supply of LPG and piped gas (PNG) in the country. Clarifying the situation, the Petroleum Ministry has said that gas supply is not only normal across the country, but due to technological improvements, consumers are now getting better facilities than before. The government has given four such big updates, which will directly impact your kitchen and pocket.

Tremendous improvement and transparency in the delivery system

The government said that the ‘Delivery Authentication Code’ (DAC) system started to stop gas theft and black marketing is now paying off completely. According to the data, the level of delivery of LPG cylinders in the country has crossed 94.5 percent. The biggest thing is that 99 percent of consumers are now resorting to online booking, due to which the entire process has become transparent and the game of middlemen has ended.

There is a lot of noise about small gas cylinders

Small 5 kg FTL cylinders have created a stir in the market. More than 18.63 lakh small cylinders have been sold since April 1, 2026. The situation is such that sales of about 80,000 cylinders are being recorded in a single day. Government oil companies have organized awareness camps and supplied gas to those people who faced difficulty in getting or keeping big cylinders. These cylinders are proving to be a boon for those who live alone or have low budget.

PNG connection is expanding rapidly

The government has also taken a huge leap in the field of piped gas i.e. PNG. More than 5.36 lakh new PNG connections have been activated since the beginning of 2026. The framework for about 2.61 lakh new connections is also ready. In this way the number of active PNG connections in the country has increased to approximately 7.97 lakh. The special thing is that thousands of old LPG consumers have now started the process of shifting themselves to PNG, due to which the use of LPG has become even easier.

100% supply assurance and offers from companies

The government has assured that 100% supply of domestic use (PNG) and vehicles (CNG) is being ensured. Leading companies like IGL, MGL, GAIL Gas and BPCL are not only expanding the network but are also offering various incentives and offers to woo new customers. The government’s aim is to ensure that safe and affordable piped gas reaches every household in the future.
