LPG Cylinder: LPG consumers should do this work by 31st December, otherwise the connection will be closed.
According to the data, so far e-KYC of about 65 percent of LPG connections has been completed in Bhopal district alone. Whereas there are more than 8 lakh LPG connections of various companies in the district.
E-KYC becomes mandatory to prevent fake connections
With the aim of curbing fake and duplicate LPG connections and bringing transparency in the system, the Petroleum Ministry has made e-KYC mandatory for LPG connections. This process has been going on for the last one year, but consumer participation is not visible at the expected level.
Get e-KYC done at home or by visiting the dealer
Consumers can do e-KYC sitting at home by downloading the mobile app of their respective LPG company. Apart from this, this process can also be completed by going to the nearest gas agency or dealer. For this, you will have to carry Aadhar card, consumer diary (diary) of LPG connection and mobile number. This service is completely free.
According to LPG distributor RK Gupta, consumers are being continuously made aware. He said that if e-KYC is not done by December 31, the connection can be closed.
Special important for Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries
E-KYC is even more important for beneficiaries taking gas connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Biometric Aadhaar authentication or e-KYC has been made mandatory every financial year to avail the targeted subsidy of Rs 300 on 8th and 9th refill.
If e-KYC is not completed, the subsidy will be stopped after the 7th refill. However, the subsidy can be availed again if e-KYC is completed before the end of the financial year.
