Attempts have been made to keep the prices of 14.2 kg LPG cylinders for domestic consumption stable at present. The current price of this cylinder in Delhi is Rs 913. In other major cities this price may vary slightly depending on local taxes. This is considered to be a matter of partial satisfaction for ordinary families.

For small families or those who need gas for temporary use, the 5kg ‘small’ cylinder is a good option. The price of this cylinder is Rs.339. The biggest feature of this cylinder is that no Local Address Proof is required to get it. Customers can easily get new connections by just showing their (Aadhaar Redacted).

Increase in price of commercial cylinders
The price of 19 kg commercial cylinder used by hotel, restaurant and dhaba operators is witnessing a huge increase. The price of this cylinder has now reached Rs.3071.5. Besides, cylinders like ‘Nanocut’ and ‘XtraTeJ’ which are considered more efficient are available between Rs 3094 and Rs 3225. Due to this price increase, the price of food in the hotel is expected to increase.
MODERN ‘XTRALITE’ CYLINDER: LIGHTWEIGHT AND SAFE
Hi-tech ‘XTRALITE’ cylinders are now available in the market as an alternative to conventional iron cylinders. These cylinders are light in weight and easy to transport. Its important feature is that it can be seen from the outside how much gas is left in it. A 10 kg XTRALITE cylinder is priced at Rs 652.5, while the 5 kg variant is available from Rs 339 to Rs 826.
Large cylinders for industrial use
A 47.5 kg cylinder for big hotels and industrial use is priced between Rs 7674.5 and Rs 7730.5. So, the prices of the largest 425 kg cylinder used in industries have now reached Rs 68,000 to 69,000. Overall, it is clear from the new tariff that while domestic consumers will get some relief for now, rising rates in the commercial sector will add to traders’ costs.
