There has been a big jump in the prices of gas cylinders on the second day of Diwali. During Lakshmi Puja on Diwali, Indian oil marketing companies have announced an increase in the price of 19 kg LPG cylinder. The price of commercial gas cylinder has increased to Rs 61-62 in metro cities. However, there has been no change in the price of 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder. But in many cities the price of commercial gas cylinder has reached close to Rs 2000.

Indian Oil Corporation has decided to increase the price of 19 kg LPG cylinder. Especially in metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata, a huge surge is being seen. The price of a 19 kg LPG cylinder in Kolkata is just Rs 35 less than Rs 2000. At the same time, the price of 19 kg LPG cylinder, which was up to Rs 1750 in Delhi and Mumbai, has now crossed Rs 1800. These new prices are effective from 1 November 2024.

Due to increase in the prices of commercial cylinders, the goods available in the market will become expensive.

The price of cylinder in Delhi has increased from Rs 1740 to Rs 1802.
The price of cylinder in Kolkata has increased from Rs 1850.50 to Rs 1911.50.
The price of cylinder in Mumbai has increased from Rs 1692.50 to Rs 1754.
Cylinder price in Chennai has increased from Rs 1903 to Rs 1964.
No increase in 14 kg cylinder
It is a matter of relief that the price of 14.2 kg domestic gas cylinder used at home has not increased. Even on November 1, these domestic gas cylinders are available at the rate of August 2023 only. The government had reduced the price of domestic gas cylinder by about ₹ 100 in August 2023. Since then there has been no increase in its price.
