Shock on New Year: Commercial LPG cylinder becomes costlier by Rs 111, know the latest rates in your city

Commercial LPG Cylinder Price Hike: The new year 2026 has brought with it a big shock of inflation. On January 1, 2026, oil companies have released new prices of LPG gas cylinders, in which the prices of commercial cylinders have been increased by a huge Rs 111. From Delhi to Patna, businessmen and hotel owners will now have to shell out more for gas. However, it is a matter of relief for the common man that there has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders.

Commercial gas prices in metros

According to Indian Oil, a 19 kg commercial cylinder will now be available for Rs 1691.50 in Delhi, which was Rs 1580.50 till yesterday. In Kolkata its price has increased to Rs 1795, whereas in Mumbai it will now be available for Rs 1642.50. From today, consumers will have to pay Rs 1849.50 for commercial gas in Chennai.

Latest status of domestic LPG

There has been no change in the prices of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder on the New Year, which has brought relief to housewives. It is available at the old price of Rs 853 in Delhi, Rs 852.50 in Mumbai and Rs 890.50 in Lucknow. Consumers in Patna will have to spend Rs 951 for this, which is the same as last month.

Journey of prices in the year 2025

Last year, 2025 had proved to be very cheap for commercial cylinders and its price in Delhi had fallen from Rs 1818 to Rs 1580. An overall decline of about Rs 238 per cylinder was recorded in commercial gas prices during the last 12 months. However, domestic gas consumers had to face a shock of Rs 50 last year.

Prices were reduced ten times in 2025

Last year, there was a big reduction in gas prices in the months of April, July and September, which brought relief to the traders. The highest cut was Rs 58.50 in July and Rs 51.50 in September, due to which there was excitement in the market. There were slight increases only in March and October but today’s increase has taken away the relief of the last several months.

Impact on business and markets

The increase in commercial gas price by Rs 111 on the very first day of the new year will increase the burden of expenses on hotels, restaurants and small food outlets. Businessmen believe that due to this increase, eating out may become expensive as the costs have increased. Now it remains to be seen whether the prices come back down in the coming months as per the global market conditions.
