LPG Rule Changes: LPG rules will change from May 1, increase in prices and new deadline for booking.

Amid rising tensions in West Asia (US-Israel-Iran) and turmoil in the global energy market, oil companies are preparing to revise gas cylinder prices and booking rules on May 1.
1. Fear of increase in prices (LPG Price Hike)
Due to fluctuations in global crude and gas prices, oil marketing companies (Indane, HP, Bharat Gas) review the prices on the 1st of every month.
Domestic Cylinder (14.2 kg): In the last one month its prices have increased around ₹60 An increase has been observed. It is expected to increase further on May 1.
Commercial Cylinder (19 kg): In the month of April itself, its prices were increased thrice (total ranging from ₹196 to ₹218). Experts believe that this will have a direct impact on business activities.
2. Increased interval between bookings (New Booking Rules)
The government and the petroleum ministry are further tightening the booking rules to prevent misuse and black marketing of gas cylinders.

3. OTP mandatory for delivery (Delivery Authentication)

4. e-KYC mandatory for Ujjwala beneficiaries
For customers receiving subsidy under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) Aadhaar e-KYC Completion has been made mandatory. Consumers who have not yet updated their KYC may face interruption in the subsidy they are getting after May 1.
5. Pressure to shift towards PNG
