Because you are soon going to get a Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connection sitting in this house. The government has started working rapidly to promote PNG. Actually, no official announcement has been made regarding this scheme yet. But there is a possibility that it can be done within a few days or weeks. After the launch of the centralized portal for PNG connection, any citizen can directly visit the same website and apply sitting at home. Till now what used to happen was that consumers had to apply to private and government City Gas Distribution (CGD) of their area. Only after this the company used to give a new connection.

Will be able to apply sitting at home

According to the scheme that the government is trying to implement, the gas distribution company will have to provide PNG connection within a certain time after applying on the portal. The work done by the company will also be monitored through the portal. Along with this, through online medium, consumers will be able to see the map of the gas grid on their mobile and computer to know where the main pipeline is passing near their house or society.

PNG reached 8 lakh houses since March

After the start of the Middle East war, there was a shortage of LPG, after which the government emphasized on PNG. Since March, PNG supply has started to more than 8.5 lakh houses. Along with this, the infrastructure is completely ready to supply supplies to about 3 lakh houses. According to government figures, about 60 lakh families are still using LPG cylinders despite living in PNG network areas. Such families have been instructed to deposit the cylinders immediately.
