Jos Buttler became the fifth player to reach 14,000 runs

Jos Buttler has become only the fifth batsman in the world to cross the 14,000-run mark in his T20 career. Before him, Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Alex Hales and David Warner had done this feat. He set this record with a 37-ball 60 against Lucknow. With 176 runs so far, Buttler has also emerged as a strong contender for the ‘Orange Cap’ in IPL 2026.

The famous Krishna laid the foundation for Gujarat Titans’ victory. He took 4 wickets for just 28 runs while bowling 4 overs. Chasing a target of 165, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan put together a 45-run opening partnership for Gujarat Titans. Last season’s ‘Orange Cap’ winner, Sudarshan was dismissed on 15 runs. However, Gill and Jos Buttler put on a modest 84-run partnership to take Gujarat to the brink of victory. Gill scored 56 runs off 40 balls, while Buttler contributed 60 runs with his bat. Washington Sundar did the rest with 21 off 13 balls, while Rahul Tewatia remained unbeaten on 10. Gujarat won the match with 8 balls to spare. This crucial win has also improved their net run rate.
