LSG vs KKR : In the 38th match of IPL 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders have defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 10 runs in the Super Over at their home.
In this match, Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and invited Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane to bat first. Thanks to Rinku Singh’s stormy half-century, KKR scored 155 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. LSG also scored 155 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Shami took the match into super over by hitting Karthik Tyagi for a six on the last ball of the innings. With this it became the first super over match of IPL 2026.

Rishabh Pant played an inning of 42 runs
Captain Rishabh Pant played a brilliant innings for the team but missed scoring a half-century by just 8 runs. Pant played an inning of 42 runs in 38 balls with 4 fours and 1 six. His innings was ended by Sunil Narayan at the hands of Tim Seaford. After this, Nicholas Puran became the victim of Varun Chakraborty after scoring 9 runs in 12 balls. LSG got the fourth blow in the form of Mukul Chaudhary 1. Anukul Roy got him caught out by Rinku Singh.

Shami hit sixes and the match reached super over
For Lucknow, Ayush Badoni played an inning of 19 runs with 2 sixes in 19 balls. Himmat Singh, who came to the crease as an impact player, played an innings of 19 runs in 10 balls with 2 fours and 1 six. LSG needed 17 runs to win in the last 6 balls. In such a situation, when 7 runs were required to win in 2 balls, Karthik Tyagi bowled a dot ball.

Rinku Singh created a stir for KKR

Apart from them, Ajinkya Rahan contributed 10 runs, Cameron Green contributed 34 runs in 21 balls, Ramandeep Singh contributed 6 runs and Sunil Narayan contributed 4 runs. Whereas for Lucknow, Mohsin Khan took 5 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs.
