Local people were seen picking pots that were kept for decoration. Its video has also gone viral on social media (Viral News).

In the video, people are seen stealing large quantities of decorative flowerpots with them. This shameful incident has taken place right after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s program. The netizens also strongly criticized this.

Attempts to green the city fail

On December 25, on the 101st birth anniversary of late leader and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Prime Minister inaugurated the grand site on the banks of the Gomti River. The LDA and the Municipal Corporation had installed thousands of attractive flower pot walls to decorate the National Inspiration Sthala Marg, Green Corridor and Vasant Kunj Road. These attractive ornamental and flowering plants were attracting everyone’s attention. But these eye-catching trees were later attacked by spectators and city dwellers. A lot of efforts were made to make the city green but the citizens took all these trees home to decorate their homes and not the city.

Stolen as soon as Prime Minister Modi leaves

The city was decorated on a grand scale by the Urban Development Department for the events. But as soon as the Prime Minister’s program ended, the situation changed immediately. People started picking flowerpots, some carried them in their hands, while others brought two-wheelers and four-wheelers and loaded them. After the video went viral, netizens criticized such thefts as tarnishing the city’s image. While the administration is working hard to beautify the area, the narrow minded attitude of some people is spoiling everything.

Lack of Civic Sense

Questions are being raised whether action will be taken against the perpetrators of such acts. No official statement has been issued by the administration yet.
