Theft of crores of rupees in Indian Overseas Bank, thieves entered inside by breaking the wall, emptied 30 lockers
UP News: A case of theft of jewelery worth crores has come to light from a bank located in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. On Saturday night, thieves entered the Indian Overseas Bank branch located in Chinhat area by cutting the wall of the bank and damaged the security alarm system. After this, they cut open 30 lockers and stole jewelery worth crores of rupees and fled away. This incident of theft came to light on Sunday. The bank was closed during this period. In the afternoon, local people saw the cut wall in the vacant plot behind the bank. After this the police was informed.
According to the information, as soon as the information was received, Chinhat police and dog squad team reached the spot and started investigation. The CCTV cameras installed in the bank were scanned, in which 4 thieves were seen committing the crime. The thieves had entered the bank with an electric cutter. The thieves carried out the theft very comfortably for about one and a half to two hours and then ran away. Although, the exact value of the stolen jewelery has not been known yet, but if bank sources are to be believed, the value of the jewelery kept in the lockers is likely to be in crores of rupees.
