Lucknow’s taekwondo stars did wonders! Captured 6 gold and 1 silver medal in the World Championship
Lucknow, Read: Taekwondo players of Lucknow performed brilliantly in the World Wide Super League (WWSL) International Taekwondo Championship Season-2 and brought glory to the city by winning a total of seven medals including 6 gold and 1 silver. This competition was held on 11th and 12th April at Khelo India Multipurpose Hall of Rajasthan Police Academy, Jaipur.
International player and trainer Master Atul Yadav said that Divya Raj Vansh and Mayank Tiwari won gold medals in the sub-junior individual poomsae event. Ashutosh Mishra in Cadet Poomsae and Akanksha Vishwakarma in Senior Women’s Individual Poomsae also won gold medals.
Lucknow players also performed strongly in the Kyorgi competition. Vinayak Rajvansh won gold medals in sub-junior boys under-20 kg category and Vaishnavi Kushwaha won gold medals in girls under-30 kg category. In the senior women’s 46 kg category, Prachi Pal had to be satisfied with a silver medal after a tough competition.
All the medal winning players are receiving training from Master Atul Yadav. Sports lovers and coaches congratulated the players on this achievement and wished them a bright future.
About 350 players from many countries including Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Thailand participated in this international competition.
