Teammates Tristan Stubbs and David Miller also reached out to him. Ngidi was conscious at the time and was talking to the medical staff, which brought relief.
Transported to hospital through green corridor
Seeing the critical condition of Ngidi, Delhi Police took immediate action and created a green corridor from Arun Jaitley Stadium to BLK Max Super Specialty Hospital.
Despite heavy traffic, the ambulance was taken to the hospital in just 11 minutes. This green corridor was created to ensure faster transportation in emergency situations and is commonly used in critical situations such as organ transplants.
Difficult to play in the next match
Doctors have advised Ngidi to take complete rest for a few days. In such a situation, it is considered almost impossible for him to play in the next match. The team management does not want to take any risk regarding his fitness.
Mitchell Starc may return
According to reports, Australia’s experienced fast bowler Mitchell Starc can be included in the team in place of Ngidi. Starc was not available in the initial matches due to fitness reasons, but now he is said to be ready to return.
There is a possibility that he may get a place in the playing eleven in the upcoming match, which will strengthen the bowling unit of the team.
