The discussion about this film city is gaining momentum ever since filmmaker Boney Kapoor has submitted the master plan for the film city to the officials of Yamuna Expressway Development Authority.

According to YIDA officials, this mega film city will have facilities like villas for actors, outdoor sets, studios and a university for training technicians. The special thing is that this film city will be very close to Noida International Airport. All these facilities will be present in the first phase of the Film City being built by Boney.

Approval may be received soon

Kapoor has recently presented the master plan of the first phase of the Film City project spread over 230 acres in front of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). After the approval of the master plan, construction work is likely to start from the end of January. Giving information in the Money Control report, a senior YEIDA official said that Boney Kapoor along with other representatives of the consortium met YEIDA CEO Arun Veer Singh in the last week of December and also discussed the layout plan of the project including the Film City Project Master Plan. A consortium led by Kapoor’s firm Bayview Projects LLP in collaboration with Noida-based real estate developer Bhutani Infra was awarded the contract to construct, maintain and operate the film city in Sector 21 near the upcoming Noida International Airport. According to officials, the temporary investment for the first phase of the project is likely to be around Rs 1,500 crore.

There will be luxury villas for actors

According to the master plan, one of the major aspects of the Film City will be the construction of 15 three-bedroom villas for film stars. Officials said that these villas will have a gym, personal swimming pool and space for a personal employee, so that the actors can go directly to the Film City campus for their shoots. He said that apart from constructing villas, the consortium will also build studios, outdoor sets and a university to train technicians under Phase I of the Film City project, which is being developed along the Yamuna Expressway.

An official familiar with the matter said that these villas will have facilities equivalent to star-rated hotels so that actors, directors and other employees do not have to depend on hotels located away from the film city. Officials said that the Film City will also provide the necessary components for film shooting and production like cameras, trolleys, cranes and lights, digital lab, so that the film makers will be able to get everything they need at one place.

Involved in both commercial and industrial projects

Of the 230 acres of land allotted to Boney Kapoor’s Bayview Projects LLP, 75 acres have been designated for commercial development, while 155 acres have been set aside for setting up industrial infra to meet the requirements of the film industry. The industrial aspect of the project will include film studios, a film institute, post-production facilities and other facilities. Whereas the commercial part will include activities like hospitality project, entertainment park. YEIDA will provide all infra related help for the project. Which includes electricity, water supply, roads, public transport and sewerage network.
