Maa Ka Sum Trailer Out: Mihir Ahuja plays math genius matchmaker for Mona Singh in heartwarming series

What if your super-smart teenage son decided to solve your single life like a tricky math equation? That’s exactly the fun, warm premise of Prime Video’s upcoming original series Maa Ka Sum, whose official trailer has just arrived and is already winning hearts.

In the traileryoung math genius Agastya (played by Mihir Ahuja) sees the world through graphs, probabilities, and complex algorithms. Tired of seeing his vibrant single mom Vinita (Mona Singh) alone, he sets out on a mission to find her the “perfect” partner — using science, data, and a bit of genius-level matchmaking. Along the way, he teams up with a kind-hearted scholar Ira Raina (Angira Dhar), who brings empathy and real-world wisdom to his number-crunching quest.

But as the trailer cleverly shows, not every problem in life can be cracked with formulas. Human emotions, unexpected twists, and a mother’s own journey of self-discovery prove that love doesn’t always follow logic. The story beautifully balances light-hearted comedy with touching family moments, reminding us that some battles are won with the heart, not just the head.

The eight-episode series is directed by Nicholas Kharkongor (known for Axone) and written by Ravinder Randhawa, Sumrit Shahi, Akhlaque Khan, and Heena D’Souza. It also features a solid supporting cast including Ranveer Brar, Celesti Bairagey, and many others.

Maa Ka Sum is all set for a global premiere on April 3, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video. It will stream in Hindi with subtitles in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, available across India and over 240 countries.

This fresh take on the mother-son bond, mixed with quirky math vibes and emotional depth, looks like the perfect family watch for the weekend — funny, relatable, and full of feel-good energy.
