110-year-old Mukhtiyar Kaur of Kotkapura has also received financial assistance under the scheme. She has difficulty hearing, but speaks clearly and says that she spent this amount on household needs. She says, “I have never seen any government giving so much respect to the women of Punjab before.”

102-year-old Jasmail Kaur from Faridkot has spent most of her life taking care of her family. He also used the amount of assistance he received for the welfare of his family. She says, “Main kuch paisa apni dawai-booti te kharch kita te kuch paisa aapne jawai de ilaj waaste apni beti nu de ditta.” (I spent some money on my medicines and gave some money to my daughter for the treatment of my son-in-law.) Smiling, she says, “I am happy that the Bhagwant Mann government is taking so much care of women.” She says, “At this age, money becomes your biggest support. It is needed for every work. 102 year old Pritam Kaur of Moga is very weak and also has difficulty in hearing. Due to her age, she is unable to speak very much, so her son Sikandar Singh says that this assistance of Rs 3,000 has made his mother’s life a little easier. The family bought a wheelchair for her with this amount, so that she can now move easily inside the house. The remaining amount was spent on his medicines. For Pritam Kaur, this assistance has become a medium to make her daily life more comfortable than before.

102 year old Angrezi Kaur is also very happy with this scheme. He has difficulty hearing, but his enthusiasm is palpable. She says confidently, “Main taan aapne kol rakhangi eh paisa, jithe dil karega othe hi kher karangi. (I will keep this money with me. I will spend it wherever I feel like.)” She bought her medicines with this amount, bought a new suit for herself and also spent some money on her granddaughter. His affection and generosity even at the age of 102 shows his love for others.
