macOS 15 Sequoia Update Is Here For Macs: Is Your Device Compatible?

Apple unveiled the macOS 15 Sequoia, the latest version of the operating system designed to run on Mac. The new macOS version gets new features, designs and security fixes for compatible devices. The update is available for download on the 2018 and later MacBook Pro, 2020 and later MacBook Air, 2018 and later Mac mini, all Mac Studio models, 2019 and later iMac and the ‌iMac‌ Pro.

According to Apple’s official website, the latest macOS version brings several exciting updates, including Window Tiling, iPhone Mirroring, Passwords app and more.

iPhone Mirroring, one of the coolest features of the new update, allows users to view and control their iPhones wirelessly via their Mac. This means the users can use iPhone apps on the macOS 15 desktop, respond to texts, engage with iPhone notifications and so on while their phone is locked. There is also the possibility of smoothly dragging and dropping files directly across devices.

Window Tiling has been enhanced to make it easier to arrange multiple windows on your Mac’s display, as well as additional keyboard and menu shortcuts for organising your windows.

According to the tech giant, by simply dragging a window to the edge of the screen, macOS Sequoia automatically suggests a tiled position on the user’s desktop. Customers can release a window right into place, quickly arrange tiles side by side or place them in corners to keep even more apps in view.

Safari, the web browser for Apple devices, also comes with a big upgrade, which includes the Highlights feature that allows users to discover new information from the web. As per the company, powered by machine learning, Highlights automatically display directions to a destination, article summaries or quick links to discover more about people, music, films and television shows. There’s also a new viewer mode for watching videos without distractions.

Additionally, the Cupertino-based tech giant has unveiled a dedicated password app for managing iCloud Passwords and logins.

However, there are Apple Intelligence features including Writing Tools, Genmoji, Image Playground and soon coming to macOS, but they aren’t available as of now. It is likely to roll out later this year.
