‘Made to be silenced, not defeated…’, Raghav Chadha speaks for the first time on AAP’s action
Aam Aadmi Party has written a letter to the Parliament Secretariat on Thursday to remove Raghav Chadha from the post of Deputy Leader in Rajya Sabha. Aam Aadmi Party has demanded from the Rajya Sabha Speaker that the time which was being given to Raghav Chadha because he is a Rajya Sabha member of AAP, should not be given to him now. Raghav Chadha, after losing an important post in the party, has been seen speaking publicly for the first time. He has accused the Aam Aadmi Party of silencing him.
Raghav Chadha said, ‘Whenever I get a chance to speak in Parliament, I raise public issues in Rajya Sabha. Perhaps I raise such issues which are not usually raised in Parliament. Is it a crime to raise public issues and talk about public issues? Have I committed any crime, any mistake? I am asking this question today because Aam Aadmi Party has said in the Rajya Sabha Secretariat that Raghav Chadha should be banned from speaking in Parliament.

What is the opposition saying on the Raghav Chaddha episode?
The dispute between AAP and Raghav Chadha has now increased. Opposition parties have linked it to the public dispute over 2024 between Swati Maliwal and Arvind Kejriwal. BJP leader Virendra Sachdeva said that Raghav Chadha has moved away from Kejriwal’s chaotic and corrupt leadership.
What has AAP said?
AAP has termed it as a normal procedure. Ashok Mittal has said that first Raghav Chadha got this responsibility, then I. Tomorrow this responsibility will be handed over to someone else. He has not been stopped from speaking.
Why this fate of Raghav Chaddha?
Raghav Chadha started moving away from the party after the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal. When Arvind Kejriwal was behind bars, he was undergoing eye treatment abroad. He was not vocally criticizing the central government. He also remained silent on the action being taken by ED and CBI against party leaders. Big leaders of the party were angry with him. Now this resentment has become public.
