Recently, the Dhak Dhak girl of Bollywood was seen speaking openly about the emotional stability, confidence and perseverance she inherited from her mother and how her mother’s advice helped her overcome initial criticism in the film industry. In a recent interview, the actress shared her experience of growing up under constant guidance, which shaped not only her artistry but also her self-esteem.
Art inherited from the actress’ mother
Speaking to Nayandeep Rakshit, Madhuri explained that her mother had a profound influence on her personality. Madhuri said, “I think I inherited her art from my mother. My love for singing, my love for dancing – she was very emotional and I think I got this quality from her. I’m also a very emotional person. I connect with people very quickly.”

She added that she also got discipline and honesty from her mother. She said, “My hard-working nature comes from my mother because she taught me that. She had a better sense of humor than I did and was quick to react. She had a deep sense of self-confidence, which she taught me. Be who you are. Don’t try to fit into any mold. Break the mold and create your own new identity.”
Tezaab faced a lot of criticism before
Recalling the early days of the actress’ career, Madhuri admitted that she often faced trolling about her looks. “When I started, a lot of people would ask me to do this, how is your nose, this, that,” said the actress. She said that at that time she would go to her mother for comfort. “I would go and say, ‘Mom, people are saying this,’ and my mother would say, ‘Don’t worry. Once your film is successful, people will like the things they don’t like,'” she said.

Madhuri admitted that she found it hard to believe at the time. “I said, ‘Mom, it’s not going to happen,’ and she said, ‘Don’t worry. Do you believe me,'” she said. I said yes, and she said, ‘Let’s see what happens.'”
Life changed after the movie Tezaab
Madhuri further stated that her life changed after the movie Tejaab. “After Tejaab, nobody said anything about me being thin or anything else. People accepted me as my personality,” she said. She added, “Even today, I tell new actresses not to try to fit into any mold. Don’t expect a heroine to look like that. If you’re different, that’s your difference. Enjoy it.” Said the actress.
