DA Hike: Big news for government employees, dearness allowance increased by 5%; Big salary will come with arrears

Government Employee DA Hike: Amidst the announcement of the Eighth Pay Commission, central employees are waiting for the dearness allowance for the January-June half year. Usually the DA of this half year happens around Holi, but this time it has not happened till now. Amidst this wait of the central employees, now the dearness allowance of some state employees has increased. Let us know everything in detail.

Madhya Pradesh government has announced an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) for the state government employees who are paid under the 6th Pay Commission scale. DA has been increased from 252 percent to 257 percent. This means that DA has been increased by 5 percent.

Till when will the employees get the benefits?

This increase will be applicable retrospectively from July 1, 2025. However, employees will start receiving this increased allowance in their salaries from April 1, 2026. The balance for the intervening period i.e. from July 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026 will be paid in six equal monthly installments between May and October 2026. This phased payment program is aimed at reducing the burden on the state exchequer, while also ensuring that employees ultimately receive their full dues.

The government has made it clear that if an employee retires or dies during this period, the entire outstanding amount will be given to him or his nominated family members in lump sum, which will provide immediate relief to the affected families.

Benefit to one lakh government employees

Any fraction of 50 paise or more in the amount of Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) will be converted to the next whole rupee while any fraction of less than 50 paise will be ignored. This decision will mainly benefit about one lakh government employees and officers who are still working under the 6th Pay Commission structure.

Increase in DA also under 7th Pay Commission

before this 7th pay commission DA was also increased by 3 percent for the employees covered under this, due to which their DA increased to 58 percent. This amendment has been described as a step towards tackling inflation and improving the financial condition of employees working on old pay scales.

When will central employees get gifts?

central employees Has not yet received dearness allowance in the first half of the year 2026. It is estimated that the government may increase the allowance by 2 or 3 percent. If this happens then dearness allowance will be 60 or 61 percent.
