Indore, 18 March. A horrific accident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday in a house located in Brijeshwari Annex residential area of Indore, the second largest city of Madhya Pradesh, when eight people were burnt alive in a fire that broke out due to a short circuit during the charging of an electric car (EV) outside the house.
Some relatives of the family were also involved in the accident, who had come to Indore for cancer treatment. According to the information received, there was a blast in four cylinders and eight ACs kept in the house. After this the fire took a frightening form. The power to the house went out and the electric gates could not open. Because of this people got stuck in their homes. Police and administration people are present on the spot.
Indore Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh said, ‘According to initial investigation, an electric vehicle was being charged outside the house and an explosion occurred in the charging point. After this the fire spread to the house. More than 10 gas cylinders were also kept inside the house, some of which exploded. Eight people have died in this incident. Three people have been rescued. This house belonged to Manoj Puglia, who was into polymer business. Some chemicals were also kept in the house, which were inflammable.
Neighbors told that when they heard screams in the morning, they came out and saw that the house was on fire. He immediately informed the fire brigade and police. During this time, the neighbors kept trying to extinguish the fire by filling water in buckets, but by then the fire had spread throughout the house. When the fire brigade team reached, eight people were burnt alive. There is an atmosphere of mourning in the colony after this incident.

Those who lost their lives in the accident include Manoj Jain Puglia (60 years), Simran (30 years), Vijay Sethia, Suman, Rashi (15 years), Tanay (8 years) and Chhotu Sethia. The rescued people have been admitted to the hospital. At the same time, some members of the family were saved because they had gone out for the wedding ceremony. After the accident, Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava and Minister Tulsi Silavat reached the spot.
