Madhya Pradesh: Big action in Mauganj ASI murder case, 6 accused arrested, CM ordered strict action

Bhopal: A day after the death of an assistant sub -inspector in a violent attack on police team by tribals in Mauganj district, Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police Kailash Makwana reached Rewa on Sunday to assess the situation. State Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said to take strict action against the criminals. Police conducted a search operation in Gadra village, about 25 km from Mauganj and arrested six people. The search for other accused is on. On Saturday, a group of tribals in Mauganj allegedly kidnapped and murdered a person and then targeted a police team attempting to save him, killing an ASI.

According to the information received, after the incident, the situation in Gadra is now under control and police personnel have been deployed heavy. Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code has already been implemented in the area to maintain public system. A group of people from the Cole tribe kidnapped a person named Sunny Dwivedi and blamed him several months ago for the death of a tribal man Ashok Kumar.

ASI Ramcharan Gautam was injured in police attack

According to police records, tribal Ashok Kumar died in a road accident, but the Kol tribe believed that Dwivedi was involved in it. According to officials, after receiving information about the kidnapping of Dwivedi, a team led by Sandeep Bhartiya, in -charge of Shahpur police station, was sent to Gadra village to save him. However, by the time the party reached there, he had died after allegedly beating in a room. When the police tried to open the room to evacuate the hostage Dwivedi from there, the policemen were attacked by people armed with sticks and stones. An official said that after the incident, ASI Ramcharan Gautam of the Special Armed Forces was seriously injured in the chaos after the incident and later died during treatment.

Police arrested six suspects

Other officials were also injured in the incident who were immediately taken to local hospitals. After the attack, the police had to fire in the air to disperse the mob and ensure the safety of their personnel. Deputy Inspector General of Police of Rewa region Saket Pandey on Sunday confirmed that six suspects had been arrested, and the police was searching for others involved in the attack. The police has also started the process of identifying other criminals. Rewa Division Commissioner B.S. Jamod said that seven officers and government employees injured in the incident are undergoing treatment in various hospitals.
