Beating in rehabilitation center for mentally handicapped, CCTV footage surfaced, matter flared up after dispute

A case of beating has come to light in the Mentally Disabled Rehabilitation Center in Betul, Madhya Pradesh. In this a disabled person was brutally beaten. Marks of beating with sticks are visible on his legs and back. The family members have complained about this matter to the Kotwali police station. Police are investigating the incident. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced. 25 year old Shubham Malviya, a mentally challenged person, was brutally beaten on Saturday night in Betul's Jai Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalaya Gharaunda Rehabilitation Center for Mentally Disabled in Karj village. This beating was done by another disabled person with a stick. Due to the beating, black and green marks have appeared on both Shubham's legs. Those who look like they have been brutally beaten. CCTV footage of this incident has also surfaced.

Information given to rehabilitation center

Shubham Malviya is mentally handicapped since birth and lives in Malajpur, Chicholi. The family has kept him under rehabilitation for the last 6 years. Regarding the incident, Shubham's father Nekram Malviya says that he had received a call from the rehabilitation center asking him to take his children. Took the child home and noticed marks on his body while bathing, then informed the rehabilitation center.

After getting treatment at a private doctor, when Shubham did not get any relief from his injury, he complained to the administration. Nekram alleges that his child told that his hands were held by the peon and other disabled people were beating him.

Both the disabled people had become so hyper

Regarding the incident, Kotwali TI Devkaran Dehariya says that a complaint has been lodged about a case of assault on a mentally handicapped person. Marks of beating are visible on his body. The police is investigating the entire matter. Secretary of Gharaunda Rehabilitation Center, Hemlata Patankar, says that a disabled person named Shubham was insisting on going to his home in the rehabilitation center. After his family did not come to take him, he started teasing other disabled people. When there was a dispute between them, Shubham was beaten by another disabled person. There is also CCTV footage of this incident. The allegation that the peon was holding hands and that he was being beaten is wrong. Both the disabled people had become so hyper. Seeing the fight, the peon ran away in fear.
