A case of attack on a forest department team has come to light in Dharampur forest range of Panna district of Madhya Pradesh. In fact, after catching a tractor carrying illegal stones, some people beat up the forest employees and forcibly took away the tractor. The name of Congress leader Bharat Milan Pandey has also come up in this incident. According to the Forest Department, this incident occurred on April 23, 2026 at around 11 am. At that time, the Forest Department team was on regular patrol under the direction of Ajaygarh Range Officer Vaibhav Singh Chandel.

Actually, the team that went on patrol included acting forester Maheep Kumar Rawat, forest guard Ramkhagesh Patel and many security workers. During patrolling, a tractor-trolley filled with stones was seen in suspicious condition near Kartal Road. When the team tried to stop the vehicle, the driver started running at high speed.

Allegation of assault with forest staff

The forest department team chased the tractor and stopped it near room number R-26 of Beat Silhai. During interrogation, driver Jaikaran Ahirwar told that he did not have any valid papers to carry the stones. He also said that he was bringing stones from Pishta forest area and was doing this work on the instructions of Lakhanlal Pandey alias Chhota Munna.

In fact, according to forest officials, during this time Lakhan Lal Pandey and his son Solu Pandey reached the spot and misbehaved with the forest staff. Both of them pushed the employees, pulled them by their uniforms and even threatened to kill them. Along with this, it has also been said in the complaint that the accused snatched the tractor key and mobile phone from the deputy officer’s pocket. After this the tractor-trolley was forcibly driven away from the spot. Describing this matter as serious, the Forest Department has given a written complaint at Ajaygarh police station and demanded to register an FIR.

The matter of political pressure also came to light

The matter has become more sensitive after the name of Congress leader Bharat Milan Pandey surfaced in this matter. It is alleged that during the incident he also reached the spot and allegedly supported the accused and threatened the forest staff. It is being told that Bharat Milan Pandey has been the Congress candidate in the 2023 assembly elections. Even before this, his name has come up in controversies related to sand mining. In the year 2019, there was a clash between the administration and political leaders over the release of a sand-filled dumper in Ajaygarh, which was in the news across the state at that time. Beat Guard Pishta prepared Panchnama on the spot and forest crime case number 44421/25 has been registered.
