Google will develop a special navigation system for the Maha Kumbh, which will help devotees locate various sites, akharas and saints in the area. The feature is expected to launch later this month or early December. Mahakumbh, a Hindu event, has gained fame not only in India but across the world due to its grandeur and spirituality. This is special because this is the first time that Google is creating navigation for a temporary city, which will help visitors get information about major roads, religious places, ghats, akharas and places of famous saints.
Know what is Google Navigation?
Google Navigation is a feature in the Google Maps app that provides turn-by-turn directions to a destination. The tool not only offers comprehensive maps but also gives detailed instructions on when and where to turn.
Additional Mela Officer Vivek Chaturvedi said, “Google has never allowed navigation for temporary events before. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the initiative and underlined the importance of using digital technology to improve the experience of devotees. This initiative of the Mela Authority is in line with my vision.
