Desk: Mahakumbh has started in Prayagraj. A large number of devotees have gathered at the Sangam to take a royal bath at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati. This time around 40 crore devotees from India and abroad are expected to come to Prayagraj. Devotees had started arriving at the Sangam even before the first royal bath.

The first Shahi Snan at Sangam took place on January 13, after which five more Shahi Snan are to be held at Sangam. The second Shahi Snan will take place on 14 January, the third on 29 January, the fourth on 03 February, the fifth on 12 February and the sixth Shahi Snan on 26 February, the day of Shivratri. It is believed that till now around one crore local and foreign devotees have reached Prayagraj.

Mahakumbh has come after 144 years. This time, complete preparations have been made to make Mahakumbh special. Rose flowers will be showered on devotees from helicopter in the Maha Kumbh Mela area. On behalf of the Horticulture Department, preparations have been completed to shower rose petals on the devotees in the Sangam area i.e. the entire 4000 hectare fair area through helicopter. Kumbh Mela garden in-charge VK Singh said that complete preparations have been made to shower rose petals on the main bathing festival. About 20 quintals of rose petals are to be showered on every bathing festival.

This time, helicopter arrangements have also been made to attract tourists in Mahakumbh. Its fare has been reduced from Rs 3,000 to just Rs 1,296 per person. Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh gave this information in an official statement. This 7-8 minute helicopter ride will start from today, in which tourists will be able to have an aerial view of the grandeur of the Mahakumbh Mela from above Prayagraj city.
