As the assembly elections in Maharashtra are coming closer, the political temperature is rising. This time the contest is expected to be historic. Pokri-Pachpakhadi

Pokri-Pachpakhadi assembly seat falls in Thane city. It is said to be one of the hottest seats in the state. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is contesting from Pokri-Pachpakhadi seat. In front of him, Shiv Sena's Uddhav faction has fielded Kedar Dighe, nephew of CM Shinde's political guru Anand Dighe, as its candidate.

Baramati

Baramati seat falls inside Pune city. An interesting contest is being expected from here also. State Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar has contested from this seat. In front of him, Mahavikas Aghadi has made Ajit Pawar's nephew from Sharad faction its candidate. Yugendra Pawar is the candidate from MVA here.

Uddhav Thackeray's son and Shiv Sena UBT leader Aditya Thackeray is contesting from Mumbai's Worli seat. In front of him, Mahayuti has fielded veteran Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, Milind Deora.

Here there is a triangular contest between Sada Sarvankar from Eknath Shinde faction, Amit Thackeray from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and Mahesh Sawant from Shiv Sena UBT.

Bandra East

This time NCP has given ticket to Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of late NCP leader Baba Siddiqui and who recently joined Ajit Pawar faction from Congress, from North East. Last time, Zeeshan was the Congress candidate from here. He also registered victory from here. This time too he is a candidate from here, just the party is different. In front of Zeeshan Siddiqui, MVA has given ticket to Varun Desai of Shiv Sena UBT.

Nuclear Power City

Sana Malik is contesting on behalf of NCP Ajit Pawar and Fahad Ahmed is contesting on behalf of NCP Sharad Pawar faction on this seat. However, Shiv Sena Shinde faction's candidate Avinash Rane has withdrawn his nomination from here.

Mankhurd Shivajinagar

One of the hottest seats in Maharashtra, there is a triangular contest between Abu Azmi from Samajwadi Party, Nawab Malik from NCP's Ajit Pawar and Suresh Patil from Shiv Sena.
