Maharashtra Assembly polls: Sachin Tendulkar casts his vote in Mumbai with family

New Delhi: Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar cast his vote in Mumbai early on Wednesday at a polling station during the Maharashtra Assembly polls. Tendulkar, who was accompanied by his wife Anjali and daughter Sara, requested the fellow citizens to exercise their democratic right and cast their votes at the nearest polling station.

The former Indian captain, who was looking dapper in a printed shirt,  lauded the arrangements made at the polling station. The legendary cricketer, who was named as a National Icon by the Election Commission of India (ECI), has been frequently raising awareness about voter participation. “I have been an icon for the ECI for quite some time now. My message is simple: vote. It is our responsibility. I urge everyone to come out and vote,” Tendulkar said.

The cricket legend at the end posed for the media along with his family with displaying their inked fingers. Apart from the former cricket player, several other celebrities from Bollywood also cast their vote in Mumbai. The Master Blaster has been enjoying a quality personal time after calling it quits from cricket almost a decade back.
