Maharashtra budget will provide relief to the public, will maintain financial discipline: CM Fadnavis

The budget session in Mumbai is going to start from 23 February 2026. Just before the session, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said many important things in the press conference. He clearly said that the upcoming budget will provide great relief to the general public, but there will be no compromise on financial discipline. If necessary, strict steps will also be taken.

Fadnavis himself will present the budget on March 6. The detailed preparations of late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar have been included in this. Ajit Pawar had presented the budget 11 times and was a staunch supporter of economic discipline. 15 bills will also be brought in the session.

Maharashtra has received huge assistance from the Central Government. Tax distribution will yield Rs 98,306 crore, which is more than the previous one. Rs 23,000 crores were received for two high-speed corridors and railways. In VBG Ram-ji scheme, man-days were increased from 1300 lakh to 1600 lakh, which will bring additional Rs 1400 crore.

Confusion will be removed by giving complete information in the Assembly on the investment agreements worth Rs 30 lakh crore signed in Davos. Maharashtra played a leading role in the India AI Summit. The first Agri AI conference was held. Ajit Pawar gave 500 crores to AI mission. 30 lakh farmers are taking benefit from Mahavistaar App, now Bhilli language has also been added.
