Maharashtra Elections 2024: Will MVA be defeated by these 3 big moves of Shinde government of Maharashtra?

Maharashtra Elections 2024: All the parties have geared up for the assembly elections to be held at the end of the year in Maharashtra. There are mainly two alliances in Maharashtra. On one side is Maha Vikas Aghadi, this alliance includes Congress, NCP (Sharad Pawar) and Shiv Sena Uddhav Bala Saheb Thackeray’s party. On the other side is Mahayuti alliance, which includes Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde, BJP and NCP Ajit Pawar faction’s party. It is expected that after the Jammu-Kashmir and Haryana assembly elections, the Election Commission can announce elections in the state. Before this, the Mahayuti government of the state has done something that can change the whole game of Maharashtra.

Eknath Shinde government took this decision

In fact, the Eknath Shinde government of Maharashtra on Monday (September 23, 2024) approved the formation of two separate corporations for the economically weaker sections of Brahmin and Rajput castes. ‘Parshuram Economic Development Corporation’ is to be formed for Brahmin castes and ‘Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Economic Development Corporation’ for the Rajput community. The Cabinet has allocated Rs 50 crore each to both the corporations. The main purpose of setting up these corporations is to address the financial challenges faced by the weaker sections of both the communities. Both the corporations will provide financial assistance in skill development and self-employment opportunities to the people of the weaker sections of the Brahmin and Rajput communities. After this move of the government, it is expected that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led alliance may get the benefit of this in the upcoming assembly elections.

The name of this airport will be changed

Apart from this, Pune airport will be renamed as Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj International Airport and the Maharashtra Cabinet has given its approval to this proposal. It is worth noting here that, the proposal to rename Pune airport was put forward by Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol, who is from Pune. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also supported the name change, saying that he will ensure that the proposal gets the support of the Center. Last month, Mohol submitted a proposal to name the airport after Sant Tukaram Maharaj to Chief Minister Shinde.

The Maharashtra government cabinet has also approved leasing 2,000 square meters of land in Mumbai’s Bandra area to cricketer Ajinkya Rahane to develop a sports complex. This decision can also benefit the Mahayuti in the upcoming assembly elections.
