Mumbai: Maharashtra is the growth engine of the country and for foreign investors (Business) is the most preferred state. The Chief Minister believes that Maharashtra is emerging as a ‘Global Investment Hub’ for companies from all over the world due to the industry-friendly policies of the state government. Devendra Fadnavis expressed.
Ambassador of Denmark to India Rasmus Abilgaard Christensen had a goodwill meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at his official residence ‘Varsha’. On this occasion Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Dr. Srikar Pardeshi was present. During this goodwill visit, investment opportunities in Maharashtra, port development, shipping, energy and water management were discussed. Ambassador Rasmus Abilgaard Christensen along with First Secretary (Trade Policy and Economic Affairs) Matthias Emil Bengtsson and Kannan Natarajan, Deputy Consul General of Honorary Consulate of Denmark, Mumbai were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed the representatives of Denmark about the ambitious expansion port project. The expansion of the port will give Maharashtra and the country an opportunity to become a global maritime superpower. He also said that logistics and export growth will get a big boost.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that it has been decided to implement an ambitious water taxi project to boost the water transport system in the state. For this, emphasis will be placed on developing a complete system and establishing an effective control system. He also said that the state government is willing to partner with leading Danish companies for electric ferry and electric water taxi technology.

Denmark has successfully used electric technology in its coastal areas and short-distance ferry services, and such technology can be of great use for the Mumbai-Konkan coastline as well, Danish Ambassador Christensen said. He also mentioned that around 60 Danish companies are operating in the areas of manufacturing, retail, services, shipping etc. in Mumbai and Pune area. He expressed the belief that the state of Maharashtra will be an important partner under the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership, especially in the maritime sector.
