Auspicious date of Mahashivratri 2026-
This year Mahashivratri will be celebrated on 15 February 2026.
Chaturdashi Tithi of Phalgun Krishna Paksha will start from 05:04 pm on 15th February and will end till 05:34 pm on 16th February.

Early morning: 08:24 am to 12:35 pm
Evening: 06:11 pm to 07:47 pm
Time of fasting-
The fast can be broken from 07:00 am to 03:24 pm on 16th February.
Mahashivratri worship material-
Honey, sugar, jaggery, sesame, curd, earthen lamp, ashes, saffron, barley, yellow mustard, betel leaves, hemp, Dhatura, Shami flowers, picture of Shiva family, Shivling, coconut, Rakshasutra, kumkum, intact, cloves, betel nut, cardamom, sacred thread, rose water, perfume, cow’s milk, fruits, sweets, betel leaves, havan material and white clothes for donation etc.
Mahashivratri worship method-
Wake up in Brahma Muhurta, take bath and resolve to fast.
Go to Shiva temple and have darshan of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.
Anoint the Shivalinga with water, Ganga water, milk, curd, honey, Panchamrit and sugarcane juice.
Offer ashes, sandalwood, belpatra, datura, hemp, fruits and sweets.
Light a ghee lamp and offer incense.
Chant Shiva Chalisa, Shiva Stuti and mantras.
At the end, perform aarti, pray for forgiveness and eat fruits.
