- 1/2 cup sago
- 1 liter of milk
- 1/2 cup sugar (as per taste)
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- 8-10 cashew nuts (chopped)
- 8-10 almonds (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon ghee
- Few saffron sticks (optional)

- For this, first wash the sago and soak it in water for 3-4 hours. When it swells and becomes soft, drain the excess water.
- Heat the milk in a thick bottomed pan. Keep stirring it on low flame so that the milk does not settle.
- Add sago soaked in boiling milk. Cook on medium heat stirring constantly. Sago is cooked when it becomes translucent
- Now add sugar and mix well. Keep stirring the pudding till the sugar dissolves completely.
- Add cardamom powder and saffron to flavor the pudding.
- Heat ghee in a small pan and fry cashew-almonds until light golden and mix with kheer.
- When the pudding becomes a little thick, switch off the flame. Offer it to Lord Shankara in a hot or lukewarm state and then share it with everyone as Prasad.
