Mahi was brought up in Delhi, she was fond of acting since childhood, so she came to Mumbai to make a career. The actress was first seen in the music video of ‘Tu, Tu Hai Wahi’. Then in the year 2006, Mahi got a chance to start her career with the TV show ‘Akela’. After doing many supporting roles in her career, Mahi got recognition from the serial ‘Laagi Tujhse Lagan’. This serial made Mahi Vij a TV star.

But it was not easy for Mahi to come to Mumbai and make an identity. During this time she also became a victim of casting couch. Mahi had told about this in an old interview while remembering her initial days in the industry. He had said- ‘I had received a call from a person who was claiming to be the shooting co-ordinator. I went to meet him with my sister. He was showing us the pictures in the album and then the rate card, then he started saying – Here your picture will be put and here your rate card will be made.

Was offered to go on a cruise

Putting forward her point, Mahi said that the person had asked her to go on a cruise. The actress said- ‘I told myself not to think wrong and asked him that he will shoot every day, this is his rate card. He said, ‘No, no you will go on a cruise.’ I said, ‘To give a performance’… He then said – ‘No, you understand.’ Mahi was shocked to hear the words of that person. The actress had told that at that time she was sitting with her sister in the back seat of that person’s car and she understood in which direction the person was pointing. The person said that he was not talking about the performance but about the rate card.

Sister took revenge on this person

Mahi told that as soon as she realized that something was not right there, her sister sitting in the back seat of the car pulled the man by his hair. The actress told that somehow she escaped that situation and came back. Let us tell you, Mahi has worked in many top shows, which include ‘Laagi Tujhse Lagan’, ‘Bairi Piya’ and ‘Na Aana Is Des Laado’. Along with this, Mahi also appeared in reality shows of Vij TV. These include ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4’, ‘Nachle Ve’, ‘Comedy Circus’ and ‘Nach Baliye 5’. However, after marrying Jai, Mahi took a break from TV.

Divorced after 14 years of marriage

On January 4, both of them had shared the news of the breakup of each other’s relationship with their fans by sharing long posts. Information was received from someone close to the couple that before getting divorced, Mahi and Jai had tried hard to save their marriage. But things did not work out between the two and they decided to separate. At the same time, after divorce, Mahi has returned to TV after years. These days she is seen in ‘Sahar Hone Ko Hai’. Talking about their relationship, they got married in 2011 after dating for years. Both have three children. Of which they have adopted two and together they are raising the children.
