Mahindra & Mahindra records highest monthly sales
Delhi Delhi: Mahindra & Mahindra on Friday reported its best-ever monthly sales in October with 96,648 units, marking a growth of 20 per cent over last year. The Mumbai-based auto major 80,679 units were shipped.In the utility vehicle segment, it sold 54,504 units in the domestic market, up 25 per cent from 43,708 units in the year-ago period, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) said in a statement.The total passenger vehicles including exports Wholesale sales stood at 55,571 units. The auto major said domestic sales of commercial vehicles stood at 28,812 units last month.
Vijay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M, said, “We are excited to record highest-ever SUV sales of 54,504 vehicles in October, a growth of 25 per cent, and highest-ever total sales of 96,648 vehicles, a growth of 20 per cent. ” He said the month had started well with the Thar Rocks getting 1.7 lakh bookings in the first 60 minutes and the positive momentum in the SUV portfolio continued during the festive season.
M&M's Farm Equipment Sector (FES) recorded highest-ever monthly domestic sales of 64,326 tractors last month, as against 49,336 units during October 2023. Total tractor sales including exports stood at 65,453 units last month, while the figure was 50,460 units in the same period of 2023. Hemant Sikka, Chairman, FES, M&M, said, “The tractor industry has seen very strong growth with a lot of positive factors coming together, including a very good monsoon, good Kharif crop, high reservoir levels which will help Rabi crops and the government's “Includes announcement of higher MSP on major Rabi crops.” He said with positive sentiments gaining momentum due to the festive season, the company expects demand to remain strong in the coming months. He said the company exported 1,127 units last month.
