Mahindra Offers Full Buyback To First 999 Buyers Of The BE6 Batman Edition
The Mahindra BE6 Batman Edition has made headlines again- a rather unusual one this time! The Indian carmaker has announced a full buyback option for the early adopters of the Batman edition. More accurately, the first 999 owners (or the ‘founding owners’) of the special edition.
The move follows a backlash from early buyers after Mahindra announced another batch of Batman Edition recently. While many welcomed the return of Batman edition BE6, some saw it as a dilution to the exclusivity quotient. The first batch of BE6 Batman Edition stirred strong response and had exclusivity as one of its key selling points.
The Background
The BE6 Batman edition was first launched in August last year. Back then, it was introduced as a special edition that celebrates the legendary DC superhero, limited to just 300 units. These witnessed strong demand, making the carmaker raise the production cap to 999 units.
These got sold out in 135 seconds, and exclusivity had a major role in driving these conversions. The collaboration between Mahindra and Warner Bros. was an instant success.
In March this year, Mahindra announced another batch of the BE6 Batman edition in the market. This time too, the production cap was set at 999 units, all of which got sold out in just seven minutes- showing serious demand.
However, the decision to bring back the same edition did not sit well with several early buyers. Many early adopters took to social media, expressing disappointment over what they saw as a dilution of exclusivity, something that influenced their purchase decision.
As a brand that’s committed to building long-term relationship with its customers, Mahindra was quick to respond and came up with the buyback program- something that it hopes would make the customers happy and address their concerns.
BE6 Batman Edition Buyback Program: Details

According to the official communication that early owners have had from Mahindra, the full buyback scheme is being extended to the first batch (the original 999) owners of the Batman edition. With this, the company aims to extend its early support and address concerns of the ‘founding owners’ of the series.
The full buyback scheme will be valid for 30 days from the date of communication. If you are a first-batch BE6 Batman edition owner and would like to opt in, you can get in touch with the respective dealership to understand the detailed terms and conditions and initiate the process.
