Mahindra Thar: If you were planning to buy Mahindra Thar, then this news may shock you a bit. The company has increased its price for the second time in April 2026. This time the price has been increased from ₹ 30,500 to ₹ 43,500 on different variants. However, the price of the base model AXT 1.5L Diesel 2WD still remains at ₹ 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

How much did the price increase on which variant?

The biggest increase has been in the LXT 2.2L diesel 4WD automatic variant, which has now reached ₹ 17.62 lakh. Whereas the petrol 4WD automatic variant has become priced at ₹ 16.86 lakh. The remaining LXT variants have also increased by ₹ 30-40 thousand. To put it in desi style, “Thar has now become even more premium”.

Strong style in design and look

The look of the new Thar has become more powerful than before. It has body color grille, LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels and a new rear camera. Its boxy design and ground clearance of 226mm makes it the king of off-roading. New color options like Tango Red and Battleship Gray make it even more attractive.

Now the cabin of Thar has also become more luxurious than before. It has features like 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital instrument cluster and rear AC vents. The seating is for 4 people, but the comfort and space has become better than before.

Thar now has features like cruise control, rear camera, USB charging and AdrenoX connectivity. Talking about safety, it has been provided with dual airbags, ABS, ESP, hill hold and ISOFIX mounts. It has also received a 4-star GNCAP rating, which makes it a safe SUV.

Engine and performance glow

Thar has 1.5L diesel, 2.2L diesel and 2.0L petrol engine options. Its off-roading capability with 4WD system is tremendous. Talking about mileage, the diesel variant gives around 15 kmpl, whereas the petrol variant gives 8-12 kmpl.
