Mahindra’s SUV will be prepared on the new NU_IQ platform
This upcoming SUV of Mahindra can be built on the company’s new NU_IQ modular platform. The biggest feature of this platform is that it supports multi-powertrain. That means all four types of engine options – petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric – can be developed on it. In such a situation, it is believed that at the time of launch or in future, this SUV can be launched in the market with different powertrain options. If reports are to be believed, this SUV may be introduced under the XUV branding and will be positioned directly against the Hyundai Creta.
Vision S concept will give design cues
This new SUV from Mahindra may be largely inspired by the Vision S concept, which the company showcased on the occasion of Independence Day this year. Mahindra’s signature Twin Peaks logo, sharp LED lights and muscular design were seen on the front in this concept. High ground clearance, big tires and wide stance give it a strong SUV look. However, it is believed that some design elements will be made a little soft and practical in the production version.
Premium features can be found in the cabin
Talking about the interior of the Vision S concept, features like a newly designed steering wheel, large touchscreen infotainment system and wireless smartphone connectivity were shown in it. Apart from this, panoramic sunroof and dual-tone cabin theme also gives a premium feel to this SUV. The presence of a fuel cap in the concept indicates that it is an SUV based on ICE engine. The production model is expected to have petrol and diesel engine options.

When can it be launched?
According to reports related to the auto industry, this new mid-size SUV from Mahindra can be launched in the Indian market by the year 2027. After launch, it will directly compete with vehicles like Hyundai Creta and the upcoming Tata Sierra, making the competition in the mid-size SUV segment even more exciting.
