Mahua Maji from Ranchi became JMM's candidate, contesting against BJP's CP Singh, in 2019 there were victories and defeats.
Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has once again made Mahua Mazi its candidate from Ranchi. Mahua Mazi's name was not among the 35 candidates whose names were released on Tuesday night. On Wednesday afternoon, JMM released the name of only one candidate and that was Mahua Mazi. In the 2019 assembly, Mahua Maji lost to BJP's CP Singh by a very narrow margin.
Mahua Maji is currently a Rajya Sabha MP and is once again trying her luck from the Ranchi assembly seat. It was almost certain that Mahua Maji would be the candidate from JSM. For the last several months, Mahua Maji was engaged in a public relations campaign in Ranchi. His posters were put up all over the city during festivals.
In the 2019 assembly elections, Mahua Mazi lost to CP Singh by about five thousand votes. Whereas in 2014 this difference was more than 58 thousand. Congress has been giving its candidate from Ranchi seat but due to the alliance, now this seat is in the account of JSM.
