Mahua Moitra was called ‘thief’ in Indigo flight, MP lodged complaint
Mahua Moitra has lodged a formal complaint with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation alleging harassment on an IndiGo flight. The TMC MP claimed that on the Delhi-bound flight, some people raised political slogans against him and recorded videos from mobile phones.
According to the TMC MP, this incident happened when the plane had landed, but the doors had not opened for the passengers to disembark. He said that during this time some people raised slogans loudly, due to which their safety and dignity was affected.
Accused of raising slogans of ‘chor-chor’
Mahua Moitra told on social media platform X that this incident happened in IndiGo flight 6E 719. He alleged that after the plane landed, some people started raising slogans against him. Chor chor, TMC chor, pishi chor, bhaipo chor (thief, thief, TMC is a thief, aunt is a thief, nephew is a thief) the crowd raised slogans. These slogans were raised against TMC chief Mamata Banerjee and her nephew Abhishek Banerjee. During this time the MP also had to hear slogans of Jai Shri Ram.
Mahua Moitra said, this is not ‘anger of citizens’. This is harassment and a violation of my safety on the plane. Under no circumstances can these scoundrels get away with this kind of harassment inside the plane.
ALERT! i traveled to Delhi today on official work to attend meeting of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence. Was on seat 1F on 6E 719. 4-6 men boarded in a group & leered at me & went to back of plane. When flight landed & before doors opened this is what they did &… pic.twitter.com/QE0SwrUY8I

‘This is the culture of BJP’
The TMC MP said in another post, this is the culture of BJP. What is surprising in this? He told that initially he ignored this matter and participated in the parliamentary meeting. However, after watching the video of the incident online, he decided to react publicly.
What was said in the complaint made to DGCA?
In the complaint sent to the DGCA, Mahua Moitra alleged that political slogans of partisan nature were being continuously and loudly chanted by the miscreants, with the clear objective of intimidating and humiliating me because of my political affiliation.
He also said in the complaint that the accused raised politically charged slogans and slogans whose clear objective and effect was to defame me on the basis of my political affiliation. Personal abuse, ridicule, abusive language and sexual abuse towards me, including comments intended to provoke, intimidate and humiliate me. Recording me on mobile devices without my consent, as well as inciting other people on board to engage in such misconduct – a circumstance that strongly suggests that this behavior was premeditated and meant to be broadcast on social media.
So here is the official complaint @IndiGo6E and @RamMNK @DGCAIndia – please inform me of action taken. Regards. (1/2) pic.twitter.com/93tRx6izp4

Questions raised on Indigo crew also
Mahua Moitra also raised questions on the role of airline staff. He alleged that the cabin crew remained passive spectators. And did not intervene in any way during the incident.
The MP demanded from the DGCA that IndiGo be directed to file a complaint on behalf of the pilot-in-command regarding unruly behavior within 48 hours. He also demanded formation of an internal committee within the mandatory period of 30 days.
He also demanded a show cause notice to be issued to IndiGo and all the cabin crew members present on the flight to clarify that they had failed to fulfill their statutory obligations. At present, no official statement has been issued by Indigo on this matter.
